    I’m (Pieter) going up to Manchester tomorrow for The Warehouse Project. Definitely, for me, the best line-up of the year put together by Simian Mobile Disco - Chic, Jeff Mills, Feel My Bicep, Cutloose, & among others friend of the blog Will Tramp!

    I was struggling to think of a track to sum-it-all-up when I remembered this gem from Jamie Bull. Hope you enjoy, if you’re there - see you at the front!

    Big up to da man dems Danny Drive Thru! Here’s a biggie set for release real soon on Manchester’s Mind On Fire Records. I’ve known Danny for a long time, we’ve been friends, flatmates, and thrown a christmas tree out of our flat. 

    People like Kutmah and Thom Yorke are already on to him (playing the track he’s probably currently most known for - Virtua Ante Up) on the Stones Throw Podcast, and at Low End Theory respectively.

    Well proud of him. If you’re around Manchester this Friday, pop along to The Soup Kitchen for the release party at the Soup Kitchen and give his cheek an auntie-type squeeze from me!

    Following on from what Kev was saying about Manchester, I’ve not been to any other place in the world that can rock basements like Manchester based DJs/clubs/nights. If you disagree with this, then let us know. I’d love to test your suggestion!

    This track from El Diablo’s Social Club organiser/DJ Neil Diablo, sums up the ethos and gives me shivers. You’re in a basement, in the groove, a deep track like this is playing, then about 4.40 mins in - BOOM, it’s on.

    Do yourself a favour and buy this and only listen to it only while bathed in red light.
